Previous Work
Below is a list of previous work undertaken, organised in chronological order. Please note that not all work is included (for example, smaller projects and IT/Technical support). For a list of media work offered please see the services page.
Star Me Kitten (Audio/Visual project) - Currently ongoing
Teaming up with Mat Tuck (Woodhall Spa - The Movie!) again, we're producing a series of videos and posters as well as performing in a band (named after an REM song).
The project will see a small number of concerts performed, with the produced videos backing certain songs. The posters (click on the thumbnails below to enlarge them) are being put up sequentially around Woodhall, most notably on the picket fence.
The videos themselves feature a great number of local residents, and proceeds from the concerts will be going to charity.
Woodhall Spa Postcards
As of 2012 we've designed and printed a series of unique Woodhall Spa postcards, using our photography and graphic design skills.
The postcards feature several landmarks pertinent to Woodhall, including the Dambusters Memorial, Tower On The Moor and Broadway Shopping Centre, as well as popular walking spots such as the Water Rail Way, Pinewoods and Viking Way.
The cards themselves are printed with a glossy front and matte back, and are of a durable high quality. They are currently stocked at Janet's Tea Rooms and the Post Office.
Janet's Tea Rooms - Design & Printing
Janet's Tea Rooms required an update of their menu handouts, so we went the extra mile and created a nice new design! (Click the menu image on the left to enlarge it).
The header seen on both sides is a recreation of the logo seen above the shop, and we provided the photography of the shop and the Dambusters memorial too. We printed the menus in-house on good quality matte paper.
In addition to stocking our postcards of Woodhall (seen above), Janet expressed an interest in having postcards specifically featuring her shop, so we set about designing them, using our own photography, and having them printed. Examples are below:
The Spa Singers - 2011 Christmas Concert Recording
The Spa Singers are a newly formed singing group, and had their first meeting in October 2011. On the 22nd December they held their first concert in St Peter's Church, which was a huge success considering the time frame.
We recorded the concert using professional equipment, then undertook the editing and mastering process to produce an audio CD that was sold to the members of the group, giving them a strong memoir of the evening. We also did the logo design and the CD burning, printing and packaging.
Woodhall Spa Calendar 2012 - Photography
As well as a Pageant 2012 calendar, the Cottage Museum also brought out a calendar which features photography by James Ritson. The theme is simply buildings, landmarks and other locations that represent Woodhall Spa, and the twelve pictures include Kirkstead Abbey, the Broadway Shopping Centre, The Kinema in the Woods, and the Dambusters Memorial.
The calendar is available for sale at The Cottage Museum's Shop page, as well as at various stalls in the near future.
Here are some sample photographs featured in the calendar (more can be found on the Portfolio page):
Sally Noble Hypnotherapy - Website
Hypnotherapist Sally Noble (based in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire) wanted a simple but pleasant website design to help promote her business. We designed the site from scratch, choosing a light-green colour scheme, a two-column layout and, to add some flair, a rotating "banner" featuring our photography of cloud textures and landscapes to reinforce the site's subject matter.
We also helped with all the technical aspects of website hosting, including registering the domain name separately (recommended to maintain control), changing the nameservers and aiding with search engine listings and Google maps/business places.

Woodhall Spa Pageant 2011 Film
July 2011 was a special month in Woodhall Spa's history. In 1911, a People's Pageant took place, and so 100 years later, the village once again became host to all manner of entertainment and festivities. We helped out initially with marketing, such as creating the new logo and website (http://www.woodhallpageant.co.uk), but the bulk of our focus went towards producing a record of the day, armed with a team of volunteers and lots of equipment!
The film, which premiered on the 22nd August at the Golf Hotel, recaps the day's events as well as featuring a narrative poem by Judy Theobald and insight into the previous Pageant from historian Edward Mayor.
Update 19/11/2011
The DVD (we produced the cover artwork as well) is now on sale! It is available for ordering online (at The Cottage Museum's Shop page) and will be featured at the Museum's stall during upcoming fayres and events.
Woodhall Spa Cottage Museum - Website design and Maintenance
The Cottage Museum wanted a new website that, crucially, could be easily updated by its volunteers and maintained by a core group of people.
Recommending Wordpress as the most streamlined solution, we set about creating a new "theme" for the site and making it more accessible, whilst preserving the historical articles and adding more media content such as videos, interactive maps and a calendar of events that can be displayed across the site.
We then delivered an all-day training session for a group of volunteers on how to use the Wordpress software, covering both the basics and the more advanced techniques, using a computer suite with projector provided by Horncastle Community College.

Ties For Teachers - Product Photography for website
Ties For Teachers required a fresh set of product photographs to complement a new website design that was being implemented.
Using various portraiture techniques we were able to provide well-lit and evenly composed photographs for each individual tie. Recently, the site has started selling gifts such as pins and earrings for which photographs have also been provided (third image along the top).

Woodhall Spa Cottage Museum - MUBU workshops and teaching
As part of a small freelance team we delivered weekly workshops on a Monday night, which involved teaching people how to create audio slideshows and videos using their personal photographs, videos and music.
The project ran successfully for its 10 week duration, and a showcase evening was organised to present the work. The content is now presented as part of the Museum's digital archive.

Woodhall Spa - The Movie! - Cinematography, Editing, Music & Finishing
In late 2010 we began production on Mat Tuck's film which aimed to educate and entertain in equal measures, throwing in a touch of surreal humour.
The film features three prominent figures in Woodhall's history - Richard Adolphus Came, John Parkinson and Thomas Hotchkin - as they walk around the village explaning the back stories of key areas such as the Spa Baths and the old railway system.
Furthermore, a set of spoof trailers were produced to run before the main feature, including Brokeback Woodhall, Magnum I.P. and Agent Double-O Woodhall.
The entire feature was shot cinematically using professional equipment and edited to a high standard, and the release saw a screening at the Kinema in the Woods, followed by a second viewing at the Golf Hotel. On the 7th April, a final screening took place (again at the Golf Hotel) where DVD copies of the film were sold.
Woodhall Spa Cottage Museum - Video Work
In 2010 we produced a series of videos to help the Museum with its media-based presence (YouTube, social media etc). These ranged from short promotional and informational videos to coverage of the Arnhem Memorial Service.
